Within the Speybl HR application, you can work not only with templates in Word or PDF format when Document Generation , but also with HTML templates . The client creates these templates directly in the application using a simple editor.

The principle of operation is similar to that of Word templates - you add static text to the template that does not change in documents, and so-called keys, according to which the application automatically adds specific data to the correct places.

🔑 How keys work

The keys serve as markers that help the application know what information to add to the document and where to place it. When the document is generated, the keys are automatically replaced with the corresponding data (employee name, date, position, etc.).

✨ Benefits of HTML templates

HTML templates offer a significantly higher level of flexibility compared to Word and PDF templates: the ability to edit the template completely from scratch, edit not only the keys but also the regular text, change the text even just before publishing the document, and have greater freedom in working with the layout and content.

Using HTML templates does not replace existing options — you can still upload and use .docx templates and PDF documents. HTML templates are another option for generating documents in Speybl.

🛠️ How to create an HTML template

You create HTML templates in the Documents → Templates module.

Procedure:

  1. Open the detail of the selected template

  2. Click the Create button

  3. A simple text editor will appear.

  4. Create HTML template content manually or with integrated AI help

🤖 AI help for template creation

Using AI help, you can enter a short description or prompt, have an HTML template design generated, and then modify and edit the resulting template as desired. The advantage is that the HTML template can be reopened and edited at any time after saving.
